Brian Larkin is an independent solo artist and guitar teacher based in New York City.
His debut album, Far Enough Into the Void, features guitar-driven instrumental songs spanning a diverse array of styles. This highly acclaimed work also features several guest musicians, notably including acclaimed Australian guitarist Chris Brooks, and fellow Vigier axe-slingers Christophe Godin (solo, Morglbl Trio, Gno, The Prize) and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (Bumblefoot, Art of Anarchy, Sons of Apollo, Guns 'n Roses).
He also performed backup vocals on Bumblefoot's album Abnormal (2008), lead vocals and guest guitar solos on Dark Empire's album From Refuge to Ruin (2012) - whom he also performed with in 2008 and 2012-2013, and lead vocals on Jeremy Krull’s Additional Machinations EP (2020). Most recently, he’s been seen performing with established Long Island based Journey tribute band Any Way You Want It, dazzling progressive metal outfit Orissa, metal goddess Militia Vox, and his own solo trio.
Brian has been playing guitar for 28 years. He studied jazz and classical theory and composition at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he graduated in 2005 with a BM in Jazz Studies.
He is available for live and studio session work as a guitarist and vocalist. He’s also available to teach guitar lessons (online, and in person with proof of vaccination) and has taught hundreds of students, of all ages and experience levels, over the course of 17 years.
